Watching Heroes is Driving Me Nuts

Can’t say I particularly blame the Writers’ Union for the strike, but having this season of Heroes chopped short is driving me completely up the wall. Just seeing all the story lines obviously shortened, minimum details only is really hurting.

But overall it’s a good show anyhow.

Next week is the early ending of the season. No fun seeing how quickly it’s all going. No fun knowing that the things they talked about for this season pretty much fizzled. But lots of hope for next season.

Deja Vu Television

No, I’m not thinking about the resurgance of “Bionic Woman” I’m looking at newer shows. Like Reaper and Chuck.

I’ve just watched the first couple episodes of each, but they really annoy me because they are so much alike. Geeky guy with a big box retail job ends up with a side job that he didn’t want, but for some reason has to do.

Oh, and it has to be kept secret from most people.

They’re both lightly humorous, but really not all that funny. I’ve certainly read many better “deal with the devil” stories, and in a lot of ways Chuck draws from that kind of story.

Sorry guys, the shows just aren’t that good. Especially with both of them running.

Can’t Come Soon Enough: Chocolate Toothpaste

Sorry, it’s not chocolate flavored. But they have found a compound that occurs naturally in chocolate that is good for your teeth. Better, in fact, than fluoride at fighting cavities.

We have at least 2-4 years of testing before this comes out on the market, of course, but I can hardly wait. I’m none too fond of using a poison such as fluoride in my toothpaste, so I really hope this tests better and is safer. Can’t always be sure of that second part when you’re talking about a compound being taken out of something it was safe in. The appropriate dose for toothpaste may not be so good.

Frankly, I like this idea, even if they aren’t making it chocolate flavored. Peppermint is already a candy flavor, so I see nothing wrong with making it taste like chocolate, but if it bugs people too much thinking of it that way, there are plenty of other flavors that can be made. Just look at the huge range available now.
