Yeep! Back to School Already?
I was at Target the other day and realized that it’s Back to School season already. Seems amazing, yet it’s true. My daughter’s kindergarten starts in less than a month.
I do have to count myself lucky. It’s just kindergarten and we don’t have a huge shopping list that parents are required to get for the kids. They do take donations, though.
This time of year makes me think back to college and all the shopping I had to do for each semester. Especially the *%($ textbooks! Amazon.com wasn’t so big back then, so I had to fight the crowds at the college bookstore for everything. These days, I think I would definitely price compare online just to be sure. Amazon has a pretty impressive collection of textbooks
They seem to be running that section pretty smart. Free 2-day shipping on eligible orders over $200. I don’t think I ever spent less than that on textbooks. Those things are just so insanely expensive.
And at the end of the semester you can sell your used textbooks through Amazon. One of my sisters did that, and the rules are pretty easy to follow so long as you are prepared for when your books sell.
I like that, especially since I had one professor who forbade the college bookstore to buy his book back. He wanted those sales every semester. That book was the most worthless of my textbooks. Same for the class really. Open book, open note tests that were multiple choice. I didn’t even look at my books except for during tests and barely attended class once I realized that it was an insanely easy “A”.
Yet somehow a fair percentage of people flunked the class. I just don’t understand some people.
