Sure Beat’s Barbie’s Dream Kitchen
Whee! If you have the money, technology can sure make the kitchen much more convenient! Less cooking time, easier cooking timing, all for way, way more than normal appliances.
Like I said, it takes money.
The Speedcook oven from TurboChef is not only supposed to cook faster, it’s supposed to make the food taste better. They say up to 15 times faster, while maintaining excellent flavor.
I suspect I’d be chicken about trying something like this out on baked goods, despite their claim that it handles them just fine. My kids love it when we bake cookies or pies or cakes, and I’d hate to mess it up with something like that. Then again, the SpeedCook is far out of my range, so it doesn’t matter anyhow. But I am curious about how well it really does with things like that.
Given that you have foods cooking so much faster, I would imagine one problem would be catching meats at just the right point. Rare, medium-rare, medium, etc. - how much time between each?
Now the refrigerated oven is something I’m sure many a working parent could appreciate. Throw dinner in the oven in the morning and send it an email when you want it to start cooking. No need to fuss with a crockpot. That’s the promise of the Connect IO Intelligent oven.
That’s a pretty neat idea. Great way for working parents to avoid hitting the fast food places after work because they’re too tired to cook for the family. I love that idea. But once again, just a dream for me when it comes to price. Then again, I work at home, so I’m always home in time to start dinner, whether or not I feel like it.
Of course, what the dream kitchen really needs is a self loading and unloading dishwasher, as well as self cleaning floors and countertops. Still waiting on those.
