Seriously, I was reading over at Blogging Baby about the teacher who got into trouble for showing Al Gore’s movie about global warming. Seems some parent took offense, calling it offensive to our nation, “the greatest nation ever to exist on this planet.”

Now, I might respect the parent protesting this a wee bit more if it weren’t for his opinion on what’s causing global warming:

The 43-year-old computer consultant is an evangelical Christian who said he believes that a warming planet is “one of the signs” of Jesus Christ’s imminent return for Judgment Day. (see article)

I have nothing against religion. But attributing global warming to it strikes me as pretty silly.

Let’s see… according to this guy and people like him, Gore’s film is just a lie from the Liberal Left. Guess most of the scientists around the world belong to that then. As I understand it most scientists believe in global warming and are reasonably well agreed as to the causes.

It’s even more ridiculous to call the topic controversial. I suspect that if someone other than Gore had made the documentary it wouldn’t have been a problem. But a well known Democrat?? Keep him out of the schools! Might pollute the minds of our kids, and we’re supposed to be trying to prevent pollution, right?
