Designing Jewelry

I’ve said it before. I love fine jewelry. I worked about six years in a jewelry store, and while we didn’t do a lot of custom jewelry, every here and there a simple customization request would come through, and we’d have to sketch out the idea for the jeweler.

I got pretty interested in the idea of custom jewelry. I don’t have any of my old idea sketches anywhere but in my head anymore, but thinking up ideas was a lot of fun. Something I considered as a career possibility.

So you can imagine my delight in looking at a website that offers customized jewelry. So much fun to see a resource for people wanting custom jewelry. Makes me think about those old design ideas, and just about itch to sketch them out again.

Here’s what they say about themselves:

Paragon Lake now allows retail jewelry stores to offer customization to thier customers using a process that is easy and accessible. Paragon Lake requires only that a sketch or description be emailed or faxed for the process to begin. From there, the designer or retailer receives a computer generated rendering for approval within 36 hours.

If the customer would like more edits, they can request them as needed. If not, the piece can be manufactured and shipped within one week. The company has a team of jewelers with over 25 years of experience and they currently serve retailers and designers across the nation.
