Dell Users Demand XP

I just have to smile, hearing that Dell has given in and started offering buyers Windows XP instead of Vista as an option again. It just seems like a lot of people aren’t that pleased with Windows Vista.

The suggestion saying “Don’t eliminate XP just yet” got almost 11,000 votes.

As I said, just have to smile sometimes.

I have to agree, much of the problem is probably that a lot of peripherals don’t work quite right with Vista, as I understand it. And frankly I don’t see that it has enough benefits to want to upgrade to it, or be that concerned about having it on a new computer.

Microsoft, of course, says that it’s a small minority, but in any case they’re vocal enough to make a major company install XP again on their computers. And it’s certainly not often that consumers care so much to not upgrade that they try deliberately to avoid it with a new purchase.

yes! When I heard MS was releasing Vista, I ran out to buy a new laptop so that I could find one with Windows XP. There were only two in a town of 40,000!

I am glad I have a laptop with XP. I have all the software I need and really did not want to buy all new programs.

    Here via Alexa deal.

Slowly but surely all the software is starting to become compatible with Windows Vista. I think a lot of people misunderstand the situation though. They believe their add ons aren’t compatible but in almost all cases they can actually go to the manufacturer’s website and download the new drivers that will upgrade the current drivers on the computer.

But then again, 95% of all consumers want things hand to them on a silver platter and the refuse to do any kind of work or research. But that’s okay, eventually they will have to upgrade if they want to buy a new computer.

Eventually Microsoft will discounting support for XP like the did with Windows 95, 98, and ME (Me coming soon?).

It comes down to the fact that people resist change. No matter if something is better for them or not, they will do anything they can to avoid having to make the change.
