Bling, Bling, Blah!
Some people have just way too much money. It just amazes me that there are people who would pay $50 for a bottle of mineral water.
I’ll admit some places have lousy water. I live in San Diego, so I know what I’m talking about, and my sister tells me the water in Los Angeles tastes even worse. But paying that much for water is just insane. I don’t care how pretty the bottle is.
I don’t buy bottled water. I have a bottle which I put into the freezer or put ice cubes in, and the water gets nice and cold, which greatly improves the flavor. No bottles to throw into the trash.
Frankly, even cheap bottled water is a ripoff. Just think about how much it costs per gallon versus what you pay for tap water. If you really can’t stand the taste of plain tap water, you can calculate what installing a filtration system would add to your costs. You’d still pay much less per gallon, as well as adding less to the landfills or to overall pollution from the creation of the plastic water bottles or the transportation of the water from its source to the bottling plant to your local store to your home.
But the people who pay so much just to get their water in a fancy bottle must be nuts. Something about having too much money seems to make many people go just a little nuts. Surely there are better ways to indulge oneself than by buying your water in bottles at $50 a pop.
Then again, I could just be some random, poor blogger grumbling at what I don’t have.
Nah! Don’t think I could bring myself to buy that no matter how much money I have.
