Billionaire Loaning Homes to the Homeless
You just have to love seeing the good in people come out. A billionaire in Hawaii is allowing homeless families to use eight of his 22 mansions.
Sounds like he can certainly spare them. That’s not meant as a snipe.
You just have to admire someone who is willing to do something that can make such a huge difference. I like how he’s handling the deal too. No rent is being charged, but tenants still must pay utilities. I like that since that keeps it from being a complete free lunch. People do need that motivation to keep working and trying to make their own lives better.
The families are all Native Hawaiians, and can stay for up to 10 years. Pretty nice deal for them. That’s a long time for them to get their lives back under control.
