Aiiigh! They Got Me!
Well, Angela from Angela’s Right to Free Speech did anyhow. She tagged me with a meme. Guess I need to learn to duck more quickly.
The object of the game is to blog “8 Random Facts About Myself”. Here are the rules:
1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
Anyhow, here goes…
- I have long hair. Not the longest I’ve seen, just all the way down my back. I haven’t had a professional cut in years. And I’ll be 35 later this year, the greys do show, and I’m not dying them so far.
- I’ve never developed a taste for alcoholic beverages. Just flat out cannot stand the taste. I don’t care if others drink, so long as they respect my right not to. Amazing how hard that is for some people.
- I read constantly. Mostly science fiction if you’re talking about books, but if I see it and have enough time, I’ll read pretty much anything that comes my way.
- I spent about six years working in a jewelry store. Really a fun job, aside from the day we were robbed at gunpoint. That one took years to get over, although I did stubbornly continue at the job. And I can still identify most gemstones on sight, even the ones many find tricky, such as emerald vs. created emerald vs. tsavorite.
- I walk my daughter to school every school day. It amazes me when I see neighbors driving there. We live 3 blocks from the school!
- I’ve lived in California my entire life.
- My husband and I met in college. Good friends for the two years we attended school together, started a long distance relationship when I moved back to San Diego, lost contact for about 5 years. Then he moved and found an envelope with my address and got back in contact. Six months later he was moving back to the San Diego area where his parents are, I helped him move, and things slowly progressed from just having fun as friends to dating, to marriage. Including the 5 years with no contact, we knew each other about 10-1/2 years before marriage, but dated for only perhaps 2-3 of those years, depending on which parts we count as dating.
- I love trying new recipes. Better yet is messing with them. I can rarely stand to leave a recipe in its original form.
And now the next part. Who, oh who shall I tag? Since no ideas come directly to mind, time to start digging through my comments and pick people from there.
Soooo…. JMH Techtronics, Gem-osophy, Terra Satirize, Lumps of Clay, InsParenting, Mum’s Kitchen Table, Laurigami, and Going Crazy Slowly. Enjoy, everyone!

Hey, thanks for the tag, Stephanie. Interesting post. I love trying new recipes but I do the unthinkable. I try them out on company–often in fact, because I tire of making the same thing all the time. Thanks for stopping by, too.

I did it, thanks for the tag. It took me a little while. This summer stuff is a busy time. (When did that happen? It used to be all about fun!)
