Is Amazon Going Nuts?

I love shopping at Amazon.com. However, lately I’ve been seeing some insane prices over there, and not in a good way.

I have two kids, so I’ve been noticing it as I do bits of Christmas shopping over there. Some toys have ridiculously HIGH prices. I’m talking double and more other places.

The odd thing is that they change regularly. The prices go down to the normal, reasonable, often even lower than other places kind of pricing you’d expect. Amazon themselves don’t have it on hand right now, but one toy I saw it on was Fairytale Dora. When Amazon had it, I seem to recall it being about $100… utterly ridiculous, considering the Toys R Us site has the same doll as list price of $32.99 and current price about $25. If I recall correctly, this was through Amazon, not one of their other retailers selling through their site, but I might be wrong about that.

I’ve seen it on other toys, and what seems to happen is after a time the price goes back down. My husband and I have saved some money by noticing this and catching the price go back down or buying elsewhere.

Obviously, it pays to keep an eye on the prices of the things you buy. You can’t assume that you will get a good price every time you shop.
